“Beauty in the eye of the beholder?" I say now “Success in the eye of the Beholder”

Success has come to be to many different things to different people. You don’t really know who is actually successful and who isn’t.

That mother working her household with the 3 kids and working husband deems herself to be truly successful because of what she is doing for others. Other career women may see as demining herself and would express that she is reversing feminism. But truly if you would put yourself in her shoes you can see that she is successfully, conscientiously, and diligently giving purpose to her life.

That man working as a gardener with his earphones usually will be judged as a person with no education and no intelligence. Yes I agree it doesn’t take to much intelligence to cut grass or to push a lawnmower but have you been in that minds head. He would be doing quantum physics while he cuts your yard, he can be reciting a whole sonnet of Shakespeare while he trims your tree, he can be deciphering the most complicated mathematical question while watering your flowers. Again to judge a book by its cover is never the smartest thing to do.

Now a days I don't believe that going to college getting a degree then getting a job makes a success, or even becoming rich and famous makes you a success (ok maybe I'm lying).

Success now is on how you look at it and how you feel about it. I'm not saying its being content with your life and settling for what you have. I cant even give you an explination of what the feeling might be I just know that no one or any one can ever tell you if you are a success story. Only you can feel if you are.

Failure's her name and taking you down is her game!

We've all seen her and we've all run away from her! We avoid her as much as possible yet some people are still attracted to her. We don't know how we get her and when we do we hate her guts. Shes become the scariest thing in our adults lives and shes the one that keeps us still humble. So just maybe she's just not that bad. But still she's a motha effer, Failure is the bitch that you never want to come home to!

It's one of those words and feelings that you have to go through once at least to know how it feels and to never see it again. Failure is the one thing that you have in back of your head whenever you feel like you can succeed. It's in every corner where you walk and in every door that you open.
One of the biggest reason people don't try new things, I know from experience, is because no one wants to see failure. It's demoralizing and painful, a feeling that can resemble heartbreak, or is it actual heartbreak. It's one of the worse things to go through on top of death. Maybe that's a little to exaggerated but you get the drift of where I'm going with it.

So we avoid it by staying in our safety net, staying inside the box, under our sheets. We become a hermit and hid ourselves away from the new and the different.

How do we overcome this fear? How do we pass on or face it but then move back up?

Those are question that still baffle me. I wish I really knew the answers to that and I really don't think anyone has those answers for me. But someone can have the road to show you how to reach those answers just listen in. . .

The Ugly Truth

The Ugly truth is that in Dating there is no real truth. It's all perception. We all market ourselves to the opposite sex. We work out to look good, we clean up to smell good, we dress up with certain colors and styles to attract them. Our first impression is usually not ourselves but just a hook to catch the fishes. We are captivating, astonishing, incredible, and awesome in the beginning, but do we keep it up. Usually how long into it do you really show your real self? I'm not saying its bad or that we shouldn't do it. I do it myself and I'm still working on it. It's just an observation.

We are all Advertisers and Marketers and our product is us. We strategize, plan, implement ideas to throw ourselves into the market. We advertise ourselves with colors in our hair, clothes, even our eyes to attract the consumer. We plan to hit local markets with different types of ourselves to fit the environment. We are a product and we sell ourselves.

So the real truth doesn't come out until you actually buy it and bring it home.

Music Fusion

I think living in this day an age has been the best time for music. Anybody with a computer and an internet connection can explore the world of music. And with that exploration done by so many people there has been a fusion of music, which is great!!

I watched "Rachel Getting Married" and the wedding party was like the epitome of any party I would love to go too. From folk music to Samba, to hip hop, to Indian Music. Everybody at that party felt the good vibe of the instruments and felt the good times. That's what music comes does to you.

Even your favorite artist now days are not even totally soaked into there own Genre of Music. Lil Wayne' listens to the Ting Tings, Metallica, and other hardcore rock. P. Diddy says that his favorite bands are Silversun Pickups and Arctic Monkeys. WHO KNEW!!! On my part my Play list may go from Qtip (I'm listening to right now, let me put next to see what comes up) to the Rolling Stones (im not kidding with you!) My whole library is a mix of all types of music I have Saul Vera (thanks Sarai) to Gypsie Kings (GRINKO!!) and some suprirising hidden likes like Lilly Allen (thanks to Jo) to Yo Yo Ma (Classical Cello Player, LOVE THE MUSIC!!!!) All im saying is that now you can't be closed or narrowing yourself to certain genres of music because that fits your description. Your description can be as vast as how many types of music there are in the world!!!

What Happen with "Yes we Can"

It seems to me like "Yes we Can" was only to elect a President of our liking. A new power that was actually posted up there by the people. But what happen now? We elected him but now most of the people that elected him have forgotten about politics. I talked to many of the people that were there in the front lines to elect him and now don't even know were his at in the world, what he's doing for the world, or what he's doing for the country. I seriously thought that this was the turn when young voters not only stood in the line to have their voice heard but would keep their voice up and keep shouting at the government for more change.
But what i see now is a repeat of every other time. We leave it now for the people we elected to do the job for us. Sound like outsourcing don't you think. . .
I'm not gonna preach if I don't do it myself. I try to listen to the news on the radio. Follow the news on the internet or watch little segments on TV. You'll never get the truth from one source but if you look at different sources you'll then pick up the truths here and there. Takes 15 min while in traffic to listen, 15 min reading google news for the top stories, and like 10 min of mindless watching on the tv to get the info of the day. Why not do it?

Mental Slavery

"Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery; None but ourselves can free our minds" by Bob Marley- Redemption Song.
To me this little verse says so much. It means releasing yourself from so many attachments in the world that has replaced your mothers chord. Superficial attachments like conforming to social trends and fashion trends. Then you have attachments to places, things, and even people.

But all of these I think are in your own mind. You want to attach yourself, you need that comfort of saying this is yours and this defines me. You begin to tell yourself that this (item or thing) is what helps me say who I am, your turn your physical attachments of things into apendages like your arms and legs. I think you begin to feel like without them you dont know who you are and without a label or a description you begin to feel lost and disappointed. The disappointment then begins to be depression, so from there its just go downhill.

Buddhism has this teaching and I do agree with it, but as you can tell I also have a different theory and view to it. but they have years and decades of experience it and it looks like they have a solution. I've tried it myself and with some minor changes to my own personal fit, it works for me. It might work for you, but who knows. . .

But I think the worst attachment you can have is to a person. Things, items, or anything else are easy to be release from, but a person is harder because they walk and talk and even when they do nothing, you convince yourself there doing nothing for you (if that makes sense to you). That attachment to that person begins to be the drug you need to feel better, its the shot of happiness that helps you throughout the day. Then when you don't have it, you begin to go on a downward spiral.
But you can't blame the other person, I don't think they do it on purpose (most of the time), I think we attach ourselves to them. We develop a world with them that helps us cope through the denial of not actually being with them. We enclose ourselves in a mental slavery.

And how do you get out of it. . . . . I don't know

The Buddhist have a process and so far it sounds about right, only to certain people. Cause if there's anything I learn is that, we are all different and we all do different things.

Talking Ish

For the past couple days I've been getting complaints about people "talking ish," meaning that people in your life has now talk to you in the wrong connotation.
I hear it from friend's that seem to be very bothered from this, and I'm not going to preach and say that I have not been part of this on both ends, but as I believe, it should be of minor discomfort to you.

As I see it anybody who does usually "talk ish" are usually jealous of anything you did or are doing. The fact of the matter is that, the only way for them to feel good about their life is to try to bring someone else is life down. They try to convince themselves that the other person is wrong and they begin to make up or focus on the negative and leech themselves on there to feel better about their own life.
So usually if a person is "talking ish" it’s probably because you’re doing something right!

Also, why keep pondering over that person? Why keep him/her in your head about what they said? Wouldn't it be just a waste of brain cells and breath to respond to any of those allegations?
I feel like if I do keep contemplating over this problem I’m giving him/her the benefit of the doubt. I let them win and have control over my emotion. They should not have the control to make me sad or mad, I should!

Education and Healthcare

Yesterday I heard our President Obama speak to the people and congress about the economy, education, bi-partisan unity, and health care. What caught my ear was education and health care. These two subjects I think have the greatest impact on the economy and the everything else surrounding the government and countries issues.

First, education, we live now in a country that has become one of the less educated in the world. Our hold and grasp on us being the best in mathematics, physics, science, and even technology has gone foreign. Most of us have become un-cultured and un-informed that foreigners know more about our government and it's process then any American high school graduate.
Then we have our schools being ill prepared to educate our student and not only that, but then they pass you on to a college or university still un-prepared and without resource to actually pay for a higher learning. If we do find a way of paying for it, it is with such a debt that for years your still paying off that education. So in fact its a deadly cycle, you have four years of education and then pay back that education in the next 20 years.

Second, Health care, a reformation of this system in the government has begun. Children are now insured if your parents work full time (Insure Kids Now!). That is a huge stepping stone for a new way of providing for the people, for a government that works for the people. Yet we still have million of Americans that are un-insured and now resort to lying and cheating to see a doctor or to get a check up.
Every time I bring up Universal Health care with anyone that is opposed to it I get this answer "Government should not be running our Health care system, it should be the doctors and experts in those fields that should be running it." Here's an answer to that, are doctors running the health care system, are they laying out the plans for us to have high co-pay and run our bill for simple check ups? There running up the bill on our prescriptions?
It's sounding to me like Doctors have become the new car mechanics, checking things you dont need and trying to give you things you usually don't need. Also has anyone gave the thought that doctors are also business men, first of all they need to pay off the massive loans that they got to be a doctor. Then they have to furnish themselves and spoil themselves for all those years of poverty and hours of studying to become such great mechanics of the human body. So I dont blame them when green is flashed in there eyes.
So "Government running our Health care system", I've always been thought that the government was for the people by the people. We elect our representatives to look out for us, are we afraid of the people that we elect to look out for us? Did we not elect the right representatives? We have elections, we choose people that speak for us. We are the Government. So why should we not run our Health care system. If it's a service that benefits us, shouldn't we have the right to control and have a say in that service. Please respond to this because as much as I try to see the fault in Universal Health care. . . . . I can't!

First time

I have no real idea why I started a Blog but I guess i just want to start revealing many theories and thoughts I've accumulated in the short 26 years that I have lived. They will probably range from religion to politics to music to movies and probably all the way to dating and love and all that stuff that most people think about but don't really want to talk about it. At this point in my life I really have nothing to hide so why keep it to myself and have it build up inside me.
Most likely im not the only one thinking the way I do. I hope to find other people that have that same thought as me and maybe share ideas or you know what just tell me "dude you took the words out of my mouth" thats enough for me.

Lets hope I dont forget about writing on here, because I seriously have some good thoughts and some good conversational starters.
